The Excitement is Building...

These are exciting times indeed for Uniontown Hospital.  We’ve started a major expansion project that will make the hospital not only bigger, but also much better.  Of course, carrying out a project of this size and scope will mean plenty of change – and some inconveniences as far as parking and getting around the hospital grounds.

So please pardon our mess and bear with us as we build and expand over the next 18 to 24 months.  And be sure to check below often for important news in the Construction Updates section.  This information will help keep you posted at every stage of the construction process.

Construction Updates

07/08/08:Renovation/Expansion Update
Steel erection on the framework of the Hospital's new addition housing the lobby, patient tower and Emergency Department is complete and Delaware Avenue is reopened to traffic. Framing-in on the Central Utility Plant (off Route 21) will be completed during the week of July 14. During the next several weeks, installation of floor decking and pouring of concrete floors will take place on each level of new additions. The Excitement is Building.

06/10/08:CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
With a massive crane on-site for nearly two weeks, steel erection for construction of the new addition is moving quickly and on schedule. It is exciting to finally see the framework of the new lobby, patient tower and ED taking shape. The temporary closure of Delaware Avenue and temporary entrance to the Visitor/Patient Parking Lot have presented a few challenges, all of which have been handled by construction company representatives and the UHPD. Customer service is an issue of great concern during periods of construction which result in temporary inconveniences and changes for the public. Staff at UH needs to make an extra effort to help accommodate additional patient and family needs related to construction issues.

Please notify Don Record by email or at extension 5005 of any patient, visitor or staff concerns related to our major expansion and renovation project.
