Do You Have Osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis occurs when so much bone mineral density is lost that the remaining bone can no longer support normal body weight and becomes highly susceptible to fractures. To assess your bone density or to diagnose osteoporosis, your doctor may recommend a Bone Density Scan. This common CT procedure is quick and painless and takes no more than 15 minutes. If you're a woman over 60 who has had little or no menopausal estrogen replacement therapy, ask your doctor if a Bone Density Scan is right for you.
