PET/CT: Proof That Two Images are Better Than One

PET/CT combines two of the most advanced diagnostics tools ever invented: Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT). While PET helps doctors detect changes in a patient's biological function, CT gives doctors a non-invasive way to see inside the body.

With PET/CT, doctors can better evaluate difficult-to-image regions of the body, including the head, neck, abdomen, lungs and colon.

Specialists use PET/CT scans to develop treatment regimens that best meet the patient's needs. Because the scans are so precise, doctors can prescribe treatments that are more accurate and effective.
