Hospital launches new website

05/21/2015

Uniontown Hospital is committed to making a healthy difference in the lives of patients and families across Fayette County.

As part of that commitment to the health of the region, the hospital has completed a renovation their website to help better serve the needs of the community and hospital staff.

“Our leadership team recognized the importance of overhauling our website so that we are able to provide additional education and service to our patients, their families and to our staff,” CEO Steve Handy said. “This refreshed website has been in development since last fall and will update much of the information already contained on the existing site and also add in some new features that we hope our patients and the community finds useful.”

Partnering with Blue Archer of Pittsburgh, a website construction and design company, the hospital has increased the functionality of the site and also added user friendly features like calendar email reminders and social media links.

“The site will have a good bit of the basic service line information that was available on the existing site but it will have additional sections with new content as well, including photo galleries, videos and more,” Josh Krysak, Community Relations coordinator, said. “The redesign will feature a detailed and customizable physician and advanced practice provider search, an access point for patients to retrieve their available online medical records, breaking news and press releases, downloadable forms for multiple needs and an updated calendar feature displaying events at the hospital.”

As part of the hospital’s reorganization in recent years, a greater accessibility to leadership and department directors has also been promoted.

Handy said that the website will further this aim by providing contact points for directors and departments across the hospital so patients can have their needs met and staff is held to the highest standards of accountability.

“This site will give the public a chance to interact with their health care providers and will act as another indicator for our hospital regarding our successes as well as areas we might need to take a look at improving,” Handy said. “This is really a significant interaction tool that the community can utilize when they need to get in touch with us or express their thoughts regarding our care.”

Krysak said that the new site officially launched on May 21. He noted that the site remains under the same domain name, www.uniontownhospital.com.

The hospital is also on Facebook and on Twitter .
